CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE ANESTHETIST (CRNA)

QUALIFICATIONS. CRNAs shall:

  • Have and maintain a current license to practice nursing in at least one state in the United States.
  • Shall hold current certification or recertification from an approved national CRNA certifying body. Shall maintain certification and be recertified every 2 years by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Have and maintain current certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
  • Be a graduate of an approved Nurse Anesthesia training program.
  • Have experience in the delivery of and monitoring of all types of anesthesia utilized in the delivery of obstetrical anesthesia (general endotracheal, subarachnoid block and epidural).
  • Have current experience; at least 12 months within the last 24 months providing epidural analgesia (labor epidurals).

CLINICAL NURSE - FAMILY PRACTICE

QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing pediatric, adolescent, adults, obstetrics, and geriatric patients, as appropriate. Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice. 
  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions and disease processes across the lifespan, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of preventive health schedules, procedures, processes and education methods.
  • Knowledge of disease management and population health principles.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required. Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient’s condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
  • The nurse shall have at least 24 months of experience within the last 84 months. This experience shall have been in a primary care clinic setting.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

QUALIFICATIONS. 

  • Have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program (or a program acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force).  Shall have completed an APA accredited internship/residency in clinical psychology (or an internship/residency acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force). 
  • Have and maintain a current license to practice psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

SUMMARY. Performs paraprofessional tasks and oral hygiene duties. Supervises dental assistant functions. Related DoD Occupational Subgroup: 330.

QUALIFICATIONS.

Knowledge. Knowledge is mandatory of: oral and dental anatomy; fundamentals of physiology; dental therapeutics; sterile techniques; emergency dental care; oral hygiene; dental materials; instruments; dental treatment room procedures; medicines; systemic diseases; oral prophylaxis techniques; dental health programs; infection control procedures; dental administration; budgeting; equipment maintenance requirements; and physical properties of dental materials.

DENTAL HYGIENIST

 QUALIFICATIONS.

The dental hygienist shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Education. The dental hygienist shall be a graduate of an ADA accredited dental hygiene school.
  • Licensure/Registration. The dental hygienist shall possess a valid license to practice dental hygiene from a United States (US) jurisdiction, state, or territory.
  • Experience. As a minimum, the dental hygienist shall have a minimum of 1 year of experience following graduation from dental hygiene school.

DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY. Fabricates and repairs dental and maxillofacial prostheses and appliances. Inspects dental laboratory equipment and supervises dental laboratory activities. Related DoD Occupational Subgroup: 331.

 QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Knowledge. Knowledge is mandatory of: oral anatomy and physiology; inorganic chemistry; metallurgy fundamentals; dental laboratory technology; dental material physical and chemical properties; dental laboratory equipment and maintenance; sterile techniques; and administration.
  • Education. For entry into this specialty, completion of high school with courses in biology and chemistry is desirable.  Completion of a dental laboratory course is mandatory.
  • Experience. Experience fabricating prosthodontic restorations including fixed gold and porcelain fused to metal, and denture and orthodontic appliance fabrications.  Also, experience performing and supervising functions such as fabricating and repairing dental prostheses and appliances.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

QUALIFICATIONS.

  • A Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy institution.
  • A current, unrestricted license to practice Physical Therapy in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

PHYSICAL THERAPY TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Graduation from a physical therapy assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • A current, valid State license as a physical therapy assistant in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Have at least 12 months of experience within the last 36 months.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

QUALIFICATIONS. 

  • Be a graduate physician assistant qualified by academic and practical education to provide patient services as a physician extender under supervision of a physician.
  • Be a graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) on behalf of the American Medical Association.
  • Have and maintain certification as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). 
  • Have at least 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.
